Why I recommend the martingale collars
The martingale collar is fantastic for bigger dogs, (E.g., Newfoundland, Pitbull) and dogs that like to pull the leash and lead the walk.
The martingale collar is much different from your usual flat collar, instead of buckling around the dogs neck it instead slides over there head and tightens when they pull on the leash. Its made in two parts, the collar itself and a loop with two sliders attaching to each end of the collar.
When the dog pulls, it tightens but only to a certain extent. The whole point of the martingale collar is to prevent the dog from sliding the collar over their head when they pull, instead it tightens so they can’t do so. It doesn’t choke the dog, that’s not the intent.
The collar can comfortably fit around the dogs neck (Meaning you can fit about three fingers between their neck and the collar) since the collar tightens if they’re pulling at it.
Another important note for any collar really, is that if your dog is home alone for any period of time or unattended you should remove their collar for their safety. Collars can get stuck on objects and strangle them, so its always 100% necessary to take safety precautions with your furry friends.
You can find my new martingale collars in the shop in any prints available on the website!
